Moral, Social, Cultural Studies

To develop the physical, intellectual and emotional well-being of our pupils

Moral, Social and Cultural Studies (MSC) is an essential part of a well-rounded education. MSC teaches our pupils to be responsible and engaged global citizens, with a strong moral compass and a deep understanding of the world around them.

MSC also teaches pupils about their rights and responsibilities as citizens. Pupils learn about the importance of democracy, human rights, and environmental protection. They also develop the skills they need to participate actively in their communities and make a positive difference in the world.

The UAE Moral, Social, and Cultural Studies Program

The UAE Moral, Social and Cultural Studies program prepares learners for the ever-rapid changes in social fabric, as well as the need to assess and track trends and changes in moral, community, civic and cultural aspects.

It safeguards accomplishments in the formation of a unique local character, preserves national heritage and deters adverse behaviour.

It also deepens learners’ understanding of social, political and economic systems; improves their comprehension of movements in local and world history; enables them to analyse the relationships between humans and their natural environment and facilitates the development of a strong appreciation of the importance of relating knowledge of past people, events and civilizations to present and future challenges.

In primary, MSCS is taught from years 2-6 by class teachers weekly. Each term consists of three units of learning, which are guided through the core  textbooks provided by the Ministry of Education. Teachers follow this sequence of learning, but enhance lessons to ensure that they are active and engaging, in line with The Aquila Way.
