Where Pupils Learn to Connect with Their Home Language
At The Aquila School, we believe that it is important for pupils to maintain a connection with their home language and culture.
That's why we offer a unique programme of home language instruction for children with French, German, Spanish, or Russian as their first language.
Home Language Programme
Our home language classes are taught by certified native-speaking teachers and are designed to help pupils retain their language skills and develop their cultural knowledge. Classes are held in small groups to ensure that each pupil receives individualised attention.
The home language curriculum is based on a modified school curriculum from the pupil's home country. This ensures that pupils are learning the same language skills and cultural knowledge as their peers back home.
Our home language programme is a great way for pupils to connect with their heritage and develop a strong sense of cultural identity. It is also a valuable asset for pupils who plan to pursue further education or employment in their home country.

Available Languages
As a school, Aquila teaches, as part of the curriculum:
- Arabic
- English
- Spanish (from Year 2)
Pupils who want to learn another language, in addition to these, or also welcome to access our multilingualism programme.
All of our Language Tutors are employed by Aquila and work in our school full-time.
Additional language programmes can be added subject to a demand from our community.
Language Qualifications
Qualifications are also available to be sat in a range of home languages. Literature qualifications are also available in some languages.
These will be studied outside of the school curriculum and in addition to the examination fee, additional costs may apply for specialist speaking examiners.
Parents should speak with the languages department or examinations officer for further information.
