One of our Arabic teachers, Mr. Musab Birouteh, continues to be an incredible role model for our pupils.
Mr. Birouteh is a published and award-winning author and poet, who has been a part of our school since 2019.
He has previously been recognised for his contribution to poetry and children’s literacy. He received the 2020 Sharjah Arab Creativity Award– one of the most recognised literacy awards in the Arab world. Due to covid restrictions, the awards ceremony has been postponed and this year they honoured the winners from 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The Sharjah Arab Creativity Award is celebrating its 25th year and is run under the supervision of the Department of Culture in Sharjah. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Union and Ruler of Sharjah, the award brings together an impressive field of over 400 candidates from around the world. We are delighted to share that Mr. Birouteh received this award for his contribution to children’s literature.
This is not the first time Mr. Birouteh has been commended for his contribution to children’s literature. In 2015, Mr. Birouteh also received the Sharjah Arab Creativity award for his poetry. He has received six awards since he started his journey as an author and poet. We think this is an amazing achievement.
Mr. Birouteh said, “I am very happy to receive the Arab Creativity Award for the second time. It is truly an honour and it is wonderful to see my work have such an impact on others.”
Due to his contributions to culture and art, Mr Birouteh has also received a UAE Golden Visa. The programme, which first arose in 2019, allows the recipient to live in the UAE for up to 10 years. It was introduced to encourage the most innovative and brilliant talents around the world to become residents in the UAE. We are incredibly proud of Mr. Birouteh’s achievements!
